Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Guest house, not a full-service hotel — Expect a basic, backpacker-style setup rather than hotel-grade management or extensive services.
  • Basic and compact rooms — Rooms are functional but not spacious; some guests found them small, though comfortable for sleeping.
  • Limited check-in window — Check-in is only from 13:00 to 17:00, which may be inconvenient for late arrivals.
  • Inconsistent Wi-Fi and amenities — Some guests reported the internet being down, and air conditioning units were still being installed in some rooms.

“A very quiet and friendly place in a residential area, no trouble with parking, and run by very nice and helpful people.”

8.1Verified guest

“The staff were wonderful, extremely helpful, and let us use their phone and computer to confirm a tour. They had a handy map and gave us tips on things to do. It was about a 20-minute walk to old Jerusalem, but it was great to be away from the noise and clutter. It felt very safe. They had a kosher continental breakfast that was good and filling, plus a kitchen and fridge for guests. We could store water for the morning. There was also a washing machine and dryer for public use, and internet (though it was down while we were there). Rooms were very clean, soap provided, more like a backpackers hotel but with comfortable beds. They were installing air conditioners soon, which would have been nice, but the fans worked well.”

8.1Verified guest

“Very helpful, friendly staff, though not professional hotel managers—it's a guest house run by a German Protestant pacifist and social initiative. Quiet, well-off area, free Wi-Fi and internet PC.”
